Gremlins After Midnight slot RTP: three builds, cap unlisted
Light & Wonder's 10 September Gremlins slot lists RTP at 96%, 94% or 90% on Bigwinboard's sheet, max win N/A. Set beside the two earlier Gremlins slots.
By Staff, Spin & Tell
The RTP of Gremlins After Midnight, the Light & Wonder slot released on 10 September 2026, is listed as 96%, 94% or 90% on Bigwinboard’s game-info sheet, while GamblingNews prints only the 96% headline. Both sheets record the max win as N/A. The paytable inside the game you have loaded is the authoritative copy.
That is the whole of the news, and it is more interesting than it sounds. A licensed title from a large studio has shipped with a six-point spread between its best and worst RTP build and no ceiling on either sheet read, and one of the two earlier slots this desk found under the same film licence disclosed rather more. What follows sets the three side by side.
What the two spec sheets say about the Gremlins After Midnight slot RTP
Bigwinboard’s game-info box, dated 10 September 2026, gives Light & Wonder as provider, five reels, 20 paylines, RTP 96% | 94% | 90%, Max Win N/A, volatility Medium/High and a bet range of 0.20 to 100. GamblingNews’s release note of the same date carries a spec box with paylines 20, RTP 96%, volatility Medium/High, bets 0.20 to 100 and max win N/A. The two agree on every figure except the one that matters: one prints a single return, the other prints three.
We have seen this shape before. Eastern Fury shipped with three configurations behind a single headline, and Jade Legends opened Pragmatic’s August on one figure. Where such spreads exist they are generally understood to be operator-selectable, and neither sheet read here says which build a given lobby is running. At 90%, the lowest of the three listed here, the house’s share per spin is two and a half times what it is at 96%. That is not a footnote to the design; on a long session it is the design.
No Light & Wonder game page was read for this note. Every After Midnight figure above is an affiliate or trade-press transcription, which is why the in-game paytable is named as the copy of record.
Three Gremlins slots, one table
The information the release-week pages this desk read do not carry is the lineage. Two earlier slots this desk found have worn the Gremlins licence, one under the WMS label and one under SG Digital, and each published its numbers differently. The corporate relationship between those labels and Light & Wonder was not checked for this note and is not asserted here. Figures are as listed on the pages this desk read on 11 September 2026; “not listed” means the page carried no figure, not that the studio never published one.
| Gremlins (WMS) | Gremlins: Time to Tumble (SG Digital) | Gremlins After Midnight (Light & Wonder) | |

| Listed RTP | 96.47% | 89.47% | 96% / 94% / 90% |
| Volatility | High | not listed | Medium/High |

Two footnotes. VegasSlotsOnline’s WMS Gremlins page is internally inconsistent: its sidebar gives 20 paylines, 96.47% and a 2,500x cap, while its body text is a 2014 preview of the land-based cabinet and describes 40 paylines and a progressive jackpot. The table carries the sidebar, and the 2014 date should be read as that page’s listing rather than as a confirmed online release date. Slotorama’s page for the same game credits it to Red 7 and WMS and describes it as played across 20 lines, which supports the sidebar. Second, the Time to Tumble page describes the game as a collaboration between SG Digital and Warner Bros Entertainment Inc; whether After Midnight’s licence runs through the same licensor is not something either sheet read states, so this note says only that it carries the Gremlins film licence.
Read across the row, the lineage has moved from a single published return with a published ceiling, to a single low return with nothing else listed, to three returns and no listed ceiling. Each step disclosed less about the top of the distribution while the return figure itself became harder to pin to one number.
How the bonus is built
The architecture, as described by both reviews, is a Hold & Spin with upgrades rather than a free-spins game. Mystery Stacked Reels transform before a spin is evaluated and can reveal one of three coloured Chicken Buckets. Fuzz Balls carry cash values; GamblingNews has the Fuzz Ball as the wild, with a Scatter Fuzz Ball feature that can spawn up to five additional wilds, and Bigwinboard adds that Gizmo may place another two to five. An Instant Win feature awards one to three boxes that collect the Fuzz Ball values in view, each box building on the last.
Any combination of the buckets opens the Hold & Spin, which starts at three spins and resets the counter whenever a coin lands. The colours do the work. Per Bigwinboard, Orange activates More Money, letting later buckets raise existing Fuzz Ball values; Purple introduces Mini, Minor, Major and Grand jackpots; Green expands the grid from 5x3 to 5x6. The upgrades stack, so a round that draws all three is a different object from the one that draws none. Bigwinboard states there is no traditional free spins feature, and that eligible players can use a Buy Pass at 50x the bet to trigger the bonus. Eligibility is the operative word; the door is gated, not held open for everyone, and a priced door is a design decision to be examined, not an invitation.
Bigwinboard’s verdict, for the record, is that the game is “more on the mediocre side than memorable”, scored 5 out of 10. This desk has not played it and offers no verdict of its own.
Questions readers ask
What is the RTP of Gremlins After Midnight? Bigwinboard’s game-info box for Gremlins After Midnight lists three RTP configurations, 96%, 94% and 90%, while GamblingNews prints the single 96% headline. Which build an operator has installed is not something either sheet can tell you; the paytable inside the game you have loaded is the only copy that describes your session.
What is the max win on Gremlins After Midnight slot? Neither of the two spec boxes this desk read on 11 September 2026 gives a figure: Bigwinboard and GamblingNews both record max win as N/A. That is a statement about what has been published, not a claim that the game is uncapped. If a ceiling appears in the in-game paytable, that copy governs.
Who makes the Gremlins After Midnight slot? Light & Wonder, per both the Bigwinboard game-info box and the GamblingNews release note dated 10 September 2026. It is the third Gremlins-licensed slot this desk found across the WMS, SG Digital and Light & Wonder labels, after WMS’s Gremlins, credited to Red 7 and WMS, and SG Digital’s Gremlins: Time to Tumble.
Is Gremlins After Midnight a high volatility slot? Both sheets read label the volatility Medium/High rather than High. For comparison, VegasSlotsOnline lists the earlier WMS Gremlins slot as High volatility with a 2,500x ceiling, and lists no volatility label at all for Gremlins: Time to Tumble. A medium-high label with an unpublished ceiling is unusual, and the point of this note.
None of which argues for hurrying to it. A medium-high game whose return may be 96% or 90% depending on the lobby, with a top end nobody has printed, is one to bring a decided budget to and to check the paytable of before the first spin. Availability, as ever, varies by jurisdiction, and this is entertainment with a built-in house edge, for adults, with limits.
